About Our Church
What to Expect at Service and a Brief History
Our Mission
The mission of the Crossroads Church of God, 7th Day, is to spread the Good News of the coming kingdom of God, to those with an ear and willing to hear, in and outside of the Statesville, NC area. We reach out and renew one another in spirit through weekly Sabbath services, sharing our messages in the area and on the internet weekly.
What to Expect
Our small, supportive congregation makes for a more family setting than a much larger group. We have a many speakers with differing styles, but all deliver heartfelt messages that will impact and provide spiritual nourishment in preparation for the week ahead. Our group is small, but still has fun and are always eager to help others and to learn each service.
Our services begin at noon on Saturdays in observance of the Sabbath day. We begin and close with prayer and songs, with usually two messages from our ministers and speakers. Afterwards, stay for a small pot luck and fellowship!
Our History
Starting off as a small group in Troutman, NC, the church officially became the Crossroads Church of God, 7th Day, in 2006, and moved to our current location off Nixon Rd. shortly after. Beginning with a small group of about 15 members, the congregation decided to fill a void of Sabbath-keeping churches in the Statesville area. In that time, the church has grown in service, now having five regularly-scheduled speakers, as well as visiting church-goers and pastors from churches in and out of the state.
Questions for Your First Visit
What do you believe?
We are Sabbath-keeping Christians who have faith in Christ and in His return and coming kingdom. Along with faith, we do our best to obey Christ and God the Father, as "faith without works is dead." (James 2:26) Click here to read our full statement of beliefs.
How long do services last?
With prayer, songs, and two full-length messages, you can expect a typical Sabbath service at Crossroads to last about 90 minutes, give or take. Afterwards, we have a small pot luck, which can last another hour or so. You're welcome to stay for the fellowship afterwards, or can leave after services if you have other plans.
Is there a dress code?
No. We are a casual and laid-back group, all eager to learn. No matter your background, or how dressed up or down you are, all are welcome; come as you are!
What should I bring?
The only thing necessary to bring to church services is an inquisitive mind, eager for spiritual nourishment. Along with this, feel free to bring a Bible and notebook for notes. If you want, you could bring a snack for after service fellowship as well, although it's not necessary.
